Art in Healthcare

In 2009, Darwin and two other artists were invited to Sanford Cancer Center to develop an Art in Healthcare program.

Sanford provided a part-time coordinator, a storage room, and funding for three one-week residencies through a partnership with the South Dakota Arts Council.

Today the program is guided by a full-time coordinator with ample studio space and the support of various assistants and interns.  They now have sufficient backing to host six to ten SDAC resident artists covering thirty to forty weeks per year.

Darwin is the only remaining member of the original 2009 planning team.

He continues to share his experience with various health care systems.
